About the Chamber of Commerce WELCOME TO LAKEVILLE! In recent years, the Chairperson of the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce has written a brief introduction to the Chamber’s Guidebook and Directory. This year that privilege has been bestowed upon me. The Lakeville Chamber of Commerce was formed in July 1948 by a group of well-intentioned business owners, both men and women, with a collective desire to “advance the commercial, mercantile, manufacturing, agricultural, economic, civic, musical and athletic interests of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota, and its vicinity; to inculcate just and equitable principles of trade; to establish, maintain and enforce uniformity in its commercial usages; to acquire, possess and disseminate useful business information; to adjust the controversies and misunderstandings which may arise between its members engaged in trade or business and to promote the general prosperity of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota.” It goes without saying that in the past 72 years there have been changes to the Chamber. However, what has not changed is the commitment of local businesses to work toward creating and maintaining a thriving community. While retaining the texture of its rich heritage, the Lakeville Area Chamber of Commerce’s current mission is to advance the economic, industrial, commercial, professional, agricultural, educational, civic and general interests of the businesses of the Lakeville area and the promotion of the general welfare and prosperity of the community. To that end, the Lakeville Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau has many tools at their disposal. One such tool is this Directory and Guidebook. Within its pages you will find resources and opportunities that will most assuredly benefit you personally and professionally. As aptly put by my predecessor, the Chamber takes its mission seriously and is proud of its many accomplishments. Our membership and civic partners feel equally proud of the contributions they make daily to our community. Please take this opportunity to look through this Directory and Guidebook and truly use it to make your way around Lakeville. The individuals, agencies and businesses within these pages are in no small part, what makes Lakeville the great place to live, study, participate in civics and engage in commerce! As always, the Chamber staff, its officers and directors are ready and willing to be of assistance.
