looking better than when you found it.
• Send a quick summary to the client: what was completed, how many stripes / stencils were done and any additional observations. It adds a layer of professionalism most stripers skip, and that makes you unforgettable.
Bonus: Quick Tips from the Captain
• Don’ t solidly depend on Google Maps. Aerials lie. Asphalt / concrete hides. Feet on the ground will save your hide.
• Always keep backup paint. You don’ t want to run out mid-arrow. It’ s embarrassing and it delays completion time.
• Keep a customer checklist. Did they ask for white instead of yellow? White ADA with blue symbols? Document it.
• Weather is king. Even the best-laid striping plans melt in the rain. If it’ s humid, your curing times stretch. Plan accordingly.
• Find the silver lining with all the issues that may arise. Remember, it’ s not about how you start, it’ s how you finish.
Measure Twice, Stripe Once
At the end of the day, it isn’ t just about“ stripes and lollipops,” it’ s about pride. It’ s about laying down something that’ s going to guide traffic, organize chaos and make a property look fabulous. But to do that consistently, you’ ve got to master the basics and unleash your creative, imaginative, entrepreneurial spirit. So, double-check those counts. Run the tape one more time. Get your layout straight and lined up before you pull that trigger. Because while the paint may dry fast, your reputation takes a lot longer to clean up. Stripe smart. Stripe safe. And never forget— measure twice, stripe once.
