A Well-Maintained History
President and CEO Mark McLeod explains how
Maintenance Incorporated Pavement Products
is still going strong after 81 years.

ince 1938, Maintenance, Inc. has
been one of the most trusted names
in pavement sealing solutions. The
company began making that name
by helping the Air Force repair its runways
during World War II. Since then it has not
only evolved into a go-to supplier for to-
day’s contractor, it also has developed some
of the top products in the industry, such
as pavement sealer additives FASS-DRI,
FSA, FSA AE, FSA PLUS, as well as rub-
berized polymer additive TARGEL PLUS,
among others.
“81 years -- That’s a long time for any
company to stay relevant in any industry,”
said president and CEO Mark McLeod.
“We have been blessed.”

That blessing has shown up in the
Wooster, Ohio company’s ability to stra-
tegically grow and evolve; in 2015, it ac-
quired ABLE Industries, an equipment
and parts manufacturer geared toward
driveway contractors. This has given
Maintenance, Inc. the ability to offer
solutions for every stage of the pavement
sealing process; from additives, pavement
coatings, paint, and the equipment to ap-
ply them.
McLeod recently shared his thoughts
with APE on Maintenance, Inc.’s ap-
proach, how it weathered hard times and
what lies ahead for the industry mainstay.
