Youth Mentoring
Youth mentoring has changed slightly due to the pandemic . Social distancing , masking , and students learning from home rather than on campus , has curtailed opportunities . However , as things return to normal , so will all of the mentoring programs for the students in the community . APD offers several great programs for participation .
Coach 5-0 remains one of the
most popular programs and one of the largest with around 100 officers and professional staff employees . Mentors attend sporting events and practices , and teach students responsibility , what being a police officer is about , and develop relationships as role models .
