The Crimes Against Children Unit ( CACU ) investigated roughly 1600 matters referred for investigation in 2020 . The unit crafted over 250 felony arrest warrants , search warrants , and subpoenas during investigations of felony crimes . CACU identified ten adults directly involved in the sex trafficking of under-aged girls in our community .
The Narcotics Unit has covert personnel that target drug complaints that come in from citizens and field officers . In 2020 , the unit seized 38 pounds of Marijuana , 6,686 pounds of Methamphetamine and 398 pounds of cocaine , and over one million in cash . In addition , there were 53 firearms seized . Marijuana cases investigated by the department indicated that in 2020 , 97.5 % of bookings for marijuana involved a misdemeanor amount and 2.5 % involved a felony amount . There were a total of 1,445 cases for marijuana possession .
The Vice Unit worked 80 cases , executed seven search warrants , and effected numerous prostitution arrests and stings . The unit conducted human trafficking outreach operations to identify potential victims and increase public awareness .
The Robbery Unit was assigned 362 cases with the vast majority being robberies of individuals . The unit responded to two bank robberies and 95 commercial business robberies . In one of the commercial robbery cases , detectives were able to tie 17 offenses to the suspect who was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in federal prison .
The Fugitive Unit was assigned 969 cases and cleared 820 cases last year . In addition to working cases , the unit assists other agencies across the state and primarily focuses on felony cases .
