Multidisciplinary Threat Assessment Team Program Update Category 3 • Funded by COPS grant and required by Senate Bill 11 Category 2 • Multi-Agency Partnership: AISD, APD, MHMR Category 0 • Information sharing/ Assessment/Intervention • District team consists of 3 agency representatives. • Campus teams consist of administrator, counselor, SRO, security, other professional • MTAT feels most schools are under reporting and there should be more threat assessments. • Number of assessments are higher at specific campuses because the schools are identifying red flag behaviors and warning signs leading to threats of violence. • AISD has the social and emotional learning department which assists with district wide initiatives to address issues like with each grade level. • Counselors, social works, etc. are providing counseling, social skills instruction, restorative practices, etc. to address the issues. • Issues that MTAT is having is compliance from campus level teams (CTAT); consistent communication from CTAT to MTAT; and overall workload of managing cases.
