VIOLENT CRIMES are offenses which involve force or threat
of force. Per FBI Uniform Crime Reporting definitions, violent
crime is composed of four offenses: murder, rape, robbery,
and aggravated assault. PROPERTY CRIMES are theft-type offenses of money or
property, where there is no force or threat of force against
the victims. Per FBI Uniform Crime Reporting definitions,
property crime includes burglaries, thefts, and motor vehicle
thefts.
