Training Center and Recruiting
The Training Center is the entry
point for new officers as they begin
their careers. Recruits undergo
rigorous academic and physical
conditioning to prepare them for field
training. Upon successful completion
of the academy, officers are assigned
to a field training officer to receive
additional instruction on departmental
policies and practical experience.
Training Center staff assisted with
the training and rollout of an upgraded
electronic management system
to track force, pursuits and other
administrative processes. Personnel
also developed robust training plans
and curriculum on hate crimes, officer-
involved shootings, suicide prevention
and employee wellness, in addition to
the regular in-service course schedule
for employees.
The Force and Tactics Unit
is tasked with reviewing all use of
force reports and preparing tactical
bulletins to reinforce training standards
