The department hosted a Diversity and Inclusion for Law Enforcement training session in coordination with the Center for Public Safety and Justice at the University of Illinois and the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). The department formed a partnership with the Arlington Independent School District (AISD) and My Health My Resources (MHMR) and launched a Multidisciplinary Threat Assessment Team (MTAT). The main goal of the MTAT is to promote a safe school environment by identifying at-risk students who may present a public safety concern, assess their risk for engaging in violence or other harmful activities, and develop intervention strategies to assist them in being productive students. The Honor Guard unveiled a new contemporary uniform replacing the nostalgic dress uniform that had been worn for decades. This new change adds a modern style and embraces the current department patch with an “Honor Guard” rocker above the patch. The Honor Guard, formally established in 1986, preserves the historic traditions and provides officers at ceremonial events. Arlington, Texas Police Department | 23
