Policy & Accreditation The department has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) since 1989. CALEA is the gold standard for public safety. Accreditation embodies the precepts of community-oriented policing and creates a forum in which law enforcement agencies and citizens work together to prevent and control Tri-Arc Award for having concurrent accreditations for law enforcement, public safety communications and public safety training since 2010.
