Chief’s Message I am honored to serve as Police Chief in Arlington. This report catalogs the accomplishments and dedication that our employees have in making Arlington safe. For the sixth consecutive year, we saw a decrease in crime. Since 2009, we have experienced a drastic decrease of 33% in overall crimes. We also made significant investments in community partnerships and expanding relationships. This report captures those efforts and how the community evaluates our performance through their eyes. We launched a new multi-year strategic plan that will guide the 06 organization for many years to come. Our motto “Service Before Self, Honor Above All” reflects the commitment that each of our employees have when it comes to providing excellent service to our citizens. The theme of youth engagement took center stage in 2015. From our Mentoring Arlington Youth (MAY) Program, to Coach 5-0, and our continued investments with our Hometown Recruiting program, there are many success stories of building a positive rapport with our young people who are at the crossroads of becoming future productive citizens.
