Kyle Dishko leads the Special Investigations Section which includes Domestics, Sex Crimes, Economic Crimes, Crimes Against Children, Auto Theft, and the Regional Auto Theft Task Force. Outreach efforts were a large focus last year with the Alliance For Children in order to raise awareness about the prevention of child abuse. Detectives held “Camp Blue” last year during spring break over a three-day period where child victims had the opportunity to learn about public safety and see police officers in a different role. The event was a huge success and left plenty of smiles on the children. Lt. Mike Hollier oversees the Criminal Investigation Section which includes Homicide, Fugitives, Gang Enforcement, and Robbery/Gang Investigation Units. The department recorded eight homicides, which was the lowest number since 1993. The Fugitive Unit executed over 855 warrants out of 2,135 active warrants. The Gang Enforcement Unit continues to conduct home visits with known offenders to be ahead of emerging trends and gang crimes. Gang detectives can be seen regularly in the community conducting high visibility enforcement and tracking violent offenders. Detectives
