Deputy Chief Curtis Petties , Lieutenant Donald Fulbright , and Sergeant Blake Ritchie completed the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy course . LEEDA stands for “ Law Enforcement Executive Development Association ” FBI-LEEDA helps those aspiring to supervisor , command , and executive level assignments reach their full potential .
Training Center Commander Lieutenant Johnny McGee spent eight weeks completing the International Law Enforcement Administration 60th School of Executive Leadership in Plano , TX .
Corporals Chris Holder and Jastin Williams received a Texas Law Enforcement Achievement Award at the State Capitol . They were recognized by the Board of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement ( TCOLE ) for professional achievement . They created a course titled : " Hate Crimes : Recognition and Reporting ."
Retired School Resource Officer Barry Samples competed in the Texas Police Games and won first place in the 100 meter dash in his age group .
Detective Nate Bishop was nominated and selected for the Alliance for Children Nancy Hagan Legacy Award . He has helped structure the new HEAT unit and strives to bring justice for the victims and to the criminals who prey upon them .
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement ( CVE ) Officer Jason Belz participated in the Texas DPS 2023 CVE Challenge where he competed against motor vehicle inspectors from across the state . He took first place in Hazardous Materials and Passenger Carrier inspections .
During the Chiefs of Police Executive Forum on Crime Guns , hosted by the Bureau of Alcohol , Tobacco , Firearms , and Explosives ( ATF ) in Washington DC ., Chief of Police Al Jones was presented with the Crime Gun Intelligence Award in recognition of the innovative NIBIN Engagement Team ( NET ).
