In 2023 , APD secured a total of 16 grant awards . In addition to the highlights above , APD received $ 990,140 in funding for equipment and supplies . This included the purchase of automated license plate recognition cameras and red dot sights . APD also received $ 3,397,000 in funding for personnel , including funding for overtime dedicated to improving traffic safety and 24 new officers . Additional grant awards in the amount of $ 288,865 supported initiatives ranging from adding new digital investigation tools to increasing travel and training for APD staff .
