Karen Gladney

We met this amazing woman 20 years ago when she rolled into Denver . Karen ’ s impact on the apartment industry nationally has brought incredible success to all Owners , Management Companies and Apartment Communities . Her contributions to AAMD are incredible .
As a little girl , Karen dreamed of owning the Denver Broncos . She attends all of the Denver Bronco games home and away . John Elway has nothing on Karen when it comes to building a team . She has created an unbelievable team nationally and they love working for her .
This amazing woman runs 2 “ Powerful ” companies decaf coffee alone ! Her energy is endless as Founder of Power Leasing and Marketing and Co-founder of Power iPad Leasing .
Karen gives her all to her clients . She once stood outside an apartment community during a monsoon handing out Chick-Fil-A food to residents for Breakfast on the Go . Karen loves jumping in to help leasing and would never ask anyone to do anything that she wouldn ’ t do . Karen is dedicated to her team , clients and friends nationally .
Pat Hutchison

Roughly 30 years ago Patricia Hutchison was living in Beverly Hills and decided that she was going to sell luxury real estate and she was going to be rich ! So she went to see Wayne Pridgen at the prestigious Hilton & Hyland real estate firm in Beverly Hills … without an appointment . After waiting more than 2 hours she was finally able to meet with him where he immediately asked her “ What do you want ?” Pat simply replied “ I want to make your life easier !”
Pat joined Legacy Partners in 1992 to manage a variety of assets , all of which were outrageously successful . Halfway through her 20-year tenure at Legacy , they approached her and asked her to move to Denver to oversee operations here while building their fee management business , and we were fortunate enough that she said “ yes !”
Since her arrival in Denver 16 years ago , she brought her high energy level and “ Italian passion ” here to quickly became an integral part of the growth and leadership at AAMD . She served six years in various leadership roles in AAMD and the Colorado Apartment Association , including the role of CAA president .
Rick Kanas

One of America ’ s most beloved authors and poets , Maya Angelou , once said ; “ I ’ ve learned that people will forget what you said , people will forget what you did , but people will never forget how you made them feel ”. I think Maya ’ s words describe my friend and colleague Rick Kanas to a tee .
Rick ’ s unique uninhibited sense of humor combined with his sincere concern for your well-being almost always got you in a light-hearted space . During some of our RediCarpet staff meetings , things could get a little heated and Rick would always chime in with “ Let ’ s lighten this up and support a positive outcome ”.
At AAMD board meetings when the atmosphere dearly needed someone to transition the “ talk ” into “ action ”, Mark Williams fondly remembers Rick simply stating , “ I make a motion !” He ’ d let others fill in the details , but he had an endearing tone and a keen sense of when to move things forward .
Rick had an enormous impact on AAMD . He was elected and served for five 2-year terms on the AAMD Board , and chaired every single committee there was at the association over the course of his volunteerism . He was a mentor to countless AAMD Members , and the customers in our industry were lucky to work with him during his time at Conner Construction , Belfor , Standard Interiors , and finally with Redi Carpet .
This Hall of Fame logo represents a lot of things , but what Rick brought to the industry was heart . He had a big heart , and he brought it with him to everything he did … his family , his golf , his skiing , his volunteerism , his work – and now he carries it into the AAMD Hall of Fame .
Pat is so very passionate about our industry , the people in this industry and continues to be personally committed to serve and give back to an industry that has been so good to her .
In January of 2011 she received a phone call from Mark Hamilton asking her to join him in starting a new property management company here in Denver , Mission Rock Residential , that under her leadership is today managing over 25K units in 13 states and steadily growing .
