Tributes was a success!
L
ast month, AAMD celebrated
our industry in style at the 2018
Tributes event, and honestly,
I’m not sure how much more
can be said about how extraordinary
the event was, outside of looking at the
pictures throughout this magazine.
Peggy Panzer, Derek Avery, Parke
Pettegrew and Betty Knecht led a team
of over 40 industry volunteers to pull off
an event that I believe will be looked at
as the grandest event that the Apartment
Association has ever hosted. From
the “high end food station” dinner and
cocktails – to the stage and production
elements that defined the evening – all
the way to the after party with live
music and dancing – the event surpassed
my team and I’s expectations. Thank
you to all the volunteers who made
this evening so amazing – including
Peggy, Derek and Parke, along with the
subcommittee members: Tamara Greene,
Jason McDonald, Amy Lassers, Rebekah
Fischer, Allison Moledo, Heathe Ruszka,
Jennifer Taylor, Adam Berger, Kendra
Miller, Heather Steinle, and Renae Jones.
Of course, the sponsors of Tributes
– Presenting Sponsors: Troy Porras with
Wyatts Towing and Dave Janecek from
RediCarpet; Platinum Sponsors” Career
Options and Sunland Asphalt, and 36
other supplier companies and management
companies – were a huge part of making
this event happen. Their willingness to
invest their sponsorship dollars and their
time into this event allowed the bar to be
raised on the Tributes event.
Looking through the 80-page program
at the event reminded me of how lucky we
are in Denver to have such extraordinary
people who run our communities.
Though only 50 statues were awarded last
month, all the finalists should be proud!
You’re listed among the best people and
communities in one of the largest, and
perhaps fasted-growing apartment markets
in the country. We are proud of you and
all you’ve been able to accomplish!
This transitions perfectly to my next
point – Denver is hosting the National
Apartment Association’s Education
Conference: “Apartmentalize” – this June.
Nearly 10,000 people – yes, you read that
number correctly – will be visiting the Mile
High City June 26-29 and we’ll be putting
our best foot forward to show off what
makes Denver such an incredible market.
Since the show is local, you can send your
teams without having to worry about hotels
and flights, and AAMD is saving you
money (by purchasing a bulk number of
NAA tickets up front) by offering both the
national show and it’s local show on May
22– for one low price. See pricing below,
and take advantage of the saves that AAMD
is passing along to its members by signing up
as soon as possible. If you commit now, you
won’t need to pay until January 19.
As AAMD’s 50th anniversary year
draws to a close, I want to wish everyone
Happy Holidays and an incredible New
Year. 2019 is going to be big, and we’re
excited to have our members a part of it!
