Senate. That is a tenuous process as votes that were secured on early ver-
sions of the legislation are not guaranteed in a revised version. Once
Congress produces and approves the final bill, tax reform will land on
the President’s desk, ready to be signed into law.
This entire process has been remarkably fast, leaving many wondering
how certain aspects of the legislation will play out. It’s too early to tell
what the final product will be and there are still many possible ways the
final legislation can be altered. But rest assured –with the invaluable help
of apartment industry advocates, NAA has been in contact with officials
in both chambers throughout the process and will continue our efforts
throughout the conference. Our goal is to help ensure the voice of the
industry is heard throughout the process and that the final product
maximizes the contribution that our members can make to job creation,
economic growth and addressing the nation’s housing affordability chal-
lenges. We will continue monitoring the legislation closely throughout
the week and provide updates on major movement.
