GAME CHANGER IN
CONSTRUCTION STYLE
Commons Park West
1550 Platte Street, Denver
Commons Park West introduced
the first “wrap” style construction
to the Denver metro area.
Four stories of wood-framed
apartments were built next to a
similar height parking structure
(essentially wrapped around it),
permitting a higher density of 80
units per acre to be built using
wood framing, while allowing
residents to drive up to the floor
level of their apartment and
walk across without using
an elevator.

This property was the pioneer
of a growing wave of market
rate development in the Central
Business District. Following closely
behind it was Uptown Square, built
