Investing in bringing new talent to the industry
As it ' s been mentioned many times before in this publication in the past three years, our industry is continually in need of new talent, as hundreds of new apartment homes are opening up every month. At a recent senior management roundtable, maintenance technicians were mentioned as the top need.
In 2015, AAMD began investing in this important message- launching a new career center and ProApartments. com, a site dedicated to promoting apartments as a career in Denver. The site has been promoted in many ways incluidng on cable television, in-stream videos, online publications and social media, drawing hundreds of new visitors each month.
In 2016, the commercial spots were updated with testimonials from Tributes finalists, and launched a campaign to promote career focused open houses on National Apartment Day. The open houses drew a total of about 50 people, which emphasized the need for the campaign to continue.
This year, AAMD has increased it ' s investment, purchasing a $ 48,000 media buy, and investing in brand new, high energy and youthful commercial spots emphasizing the opportunities for career advancement in the apartment industry. Watch for these commercials on TV and social media outlets beginning March 27.
We are celebrating National Apartment Week April 3-7- beginning with a media wide press release and media exposure on Renter ' s Line 9 and Colorado and Company on April 4. On April 6, there will be nearly 50 open houses around Denver promoting apartment careers as well as drawing in new renters by offering a promotion to waive application and admin fees.
