The Foundry Apartments is a 70-unit, 9% LIHTC multi-
family project that is part of a 10-acre redevelopment of
the former General Iron Works Foundry. The project is
located within one mile of a light rail station, adjacent to
a bus line, and within close walking proximity to a com-
munity garden, Cushing Park, the South Platte Trail,
Englewood Library and City Center, multiple grocery
stores, and Porter hospital.
The Contemporary design of the building showcases
reclaimed, recycled masonry for 50% of the building’s
façade enhanced by a large mural painted by local art-
ist, Andrew Hoffman. Units feature oversized family
rooms, walk-in closets, upgraded solid wood cabinetry,
and ceiling fans in both the bedrooms and family room.
Convenience and comfort are front and center in the
choices SW Development Group made for residents.
The property is integrating programs that include better
access to healthcare and recreation, and a bicycle share
program. Residents enjoy a large indoor community
room with fireplace, lounge area, kitchen, community
seating, and work area. A large community courtyard
with playground, furnished patios, and covered trellis
areas are found at ground level, while a large com-
munity deck with unobstructed mountain views tops off
the 3rd floor of the building. The property also offers a
fitness center, business center, and indoor bike storage
room with maintenance stations. Silva-Markham Part-
ners manages the asset.
