Background: I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa and attended Iowa State
University, earning a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications and a Minor in
Marketing.
Family / Pets: I am truly blessed by having a son like Nick. He is 23 years old and
is at Grad School in St. Louis at Wash U. getting his PHD in Neuroscience Research.
I have a dog – Macy – Cairn Terrier, cat – Shadow – Blue Russian. My mother and
sisters/family live in Phoenix. My brother and extended family live in Des Moines
and other parts of Iowa.
Favorite Food / Drink / Restaurant: I love Italian food. Wine (white) and champagne are my beverages of choice.
Favorite Sport / Team: Football – Broncos all the way!

Hobbies: Love to spend time with my family and friends, concerts/theater, movies,
read, garden, shop, write, decorate, have a fun Dominos group and work – of course!
Favorite Music: All kinds from classic rock, soft rock, pop music to country to jazz
to show tunes – you name it!
Favorite Movie: I love romantic comedies and murder mysteries – I am not sure I
have a favorite movie. My favorite holiday movies are It’s a Wonderful Life and
Christmas Vacation. As far as other favorite movies – there are so many good ones
from Gone with the Wind, An Affair to Remember, The Sound of Music, The Shining,
etc. – It is truly difficult to choose! And of course, who could forget… The Godfather!
Favorite TV Show: I have so many – love The Blacklist, Downtown Abby, Blue
Bloods, many of the sitcoms like Big Bang Theory, Mom and The Goldbergs definitely miss Dexter and Breaking Bad.
How Would You Describe Your Management Style? My management style can
be intense at times as I am very focused, goal-oriented and a hard worker. I have
an open door policy and prefer not to micro-manage my team. I believe in regularly scheduled individual and team communication that is fair, direct and honest. I
like to address issues as they occur, otherwise it is human nature to worry about
them which is counter-productive. I believe that when the team works hard, they
also deserve to have fun. A strong team/family environment is vital as it allows each
team member to feel vested in the process and results.
Who has had the most influence in your life? My father truly shaped the person
I am today. He taught me many different values as I grew up by watching the example he set. He was truly a good person and a gentleman. Unfortunately, he
passed away four and a half years ago from cancer at too young in life. I learned
my love of family and friends from him, work ethic, persever
