The HOME Room is back with plumbing , electrical , HVAC , interior / exterior and appliance repair courses . Basic Door Repair , Smart Switches & Thermostats , Measuring 101 and Aquatherm have all been added to round out the schedule . These classes are in-person and allow for hands-on training while observing social distancing requirements . Class sizes are limited .

Water Heater Repair Fundamentals
Water heaters store and heat water for an apartment building . There are two main types of water heaters : gas and electric . Both are basically the same except that gas water heaters have a gas burner at the bottom and a flue vent at the top , and electric water heaters have electric heating elements inside the tank .
This seminar will cover the fundamentals of each system and common water heater problems and solutions .

The HOME Room is state of the art and allows maintenance teams to get their hands dirty by not only learning how to fix something but by truly fixing it in the classroom setting .
The HOME Room is nothing like a typical classroom environment . Yes , there are tables , chairs and a screen for a PowerPoint , but this space offers flexibility and encourages students to get up , move around and dive into the equipment they have at their fingertips .

Cooling Systems Simple Fixes and Preventative Maintenance
Sometimes , a seemingly difficult air conditioning problem can be solved with the simplest of solutions . Attendees will learn some simple fixes and complex repairs for air conditioning systems .
Simple Fixes : Appliance Repair
Appliance maintenance and repair range from cosmetic touchups ( i . e ., fixing paint scratches , changing light bulbs ) to complex part replacements ( i . e ., clothes dryer heating element , refrigerator thermostat ). The repairs between these extremes are vast and require you to increase your skills in determining the root cause of a problem .
This " simple fix " seminar will review the replacements of all parts on major appliances , electrical cord replacements and teach you different techniques to fix these appliances all while keeping your budget expense down .
