Elizabeth nous rejoint pour un café à Tamarin, en territoire conquis. Ici, tout le monde connaît cette entrepreneure dynamique( le mot est faible!) aux abords chaleureux. Voilà treize ans que l’ artiste plasticienne, diplômée des Beaux Arts de Montpellier, a lancé ses deux entreprises: In Situ et My Pop Up Store( MPUS). La première propose un service de visual merchandising, tandis que la seconde est à la fois une plateforme de vente et un incubateur d’ idées pour 118 créateurs fièrement mauriciens.
Chez MPUS – une entreprise sociale et solidaire au management participatif – Elizabeth et son équipe identifient, accompagnent et valorisent ceux qui contribuent au rayonnement de l’ île. « Ce n’ est pas seulement un business pour moi, c’ est une mission sociale, environnementale et artistique », insiste-t-elle. Malgré un agenda bien rempli, elle prend le temps de s’ investir auprès des créateurs: « Créer du lien, faire preuve de générosité, soutenir et conseiller ces artisans autour d’ un thé et d’ un napolitain … Tout cela permet de bâtir un écosystème fondé sur la loyauté et la connexion. Et ça, ça n’ a pas de prix ».
Pour Elizabeth, leader-née, être une femme est un atout: « La femme a ce pouvoir fédérateur, instinctif, protecteur, et le fait de porter l’ Autre est, en soi, un acte guerrier. N’ ayons pas peur d’ assumer notre place au cœur du village … et de briller! »
Elizabeth joins us for coffee on her home turf of Tamarin. Her warm demeanour ensures that everyone here knows this dynamic( putting it mildly!) entrepreneur. The visual artist, a graduate of the Beaux Arts in Montpellier, launched her two companies – In Situ and My Pop Up Store( MPUS) – thirteen years ago. The first offers visual merchandising services, while the latter serves as both a sales platform and an idea incubator for 118 proudly Mauritian designers.
At MPUS, a social and community enterprise with collaborative management, Elizabeth and her team identify, support, and promote those who are adding to the island’ s reputation.“ This is not just a business for me – it’ s a social, environmental, and artistic mission,” she explains.
