Coups and Calypsos was be performed on Saturday April 26th at 8pm sharp and Sunday April 27th at 7pm at the University of Trinidad and Tobago’s, Academy for the Performing Arts, Keate Street, Port of Spain Campus. To standing room only audiences were treated to the work of these dedicated artisans. They take to the stage again on May ? to present “One Man Shows” alongside their fellow graduating actors Kemlon Nero, Karianne Ford and Aryana Mohammed.

scheduled to take part in the month of May. “I’ve seen a drastic growth in my acting and I’ve learnt that Acting is not all about talent and how well you can act, it’s about dedication and you as a student preparing yourself to learn, one can be full of talent and lack dedication causing you to give up on the God given gift. In my opinion you have to be dedicated and willing to spend the majority of your time living in the shoes of everyone else but your own” says Chris-Ann Graham.

When asked how it has been working with Chris-Ann and Vedesh, Mr. Sitahal’s ear to ear smile answered the question as he stands in the middle of these two seated individuals. “It’s been a pleasure” he says chuckling to himself, “they’ve been willing to take risks and I’m very happy with the amount of work they are putting into this piece. You cannot miss this. From what I’ve seen so far, hate, love, secrets, and tension, builds this performance and there are a lot of serious elements that are present. As for the actors, they have big things ahead of them; they both want to be on the red carpet and they both have a spot waiting for them in the industry. With a Performing Arts School in the country, the question is where are they going to go when they’ve obtained a full Bachelor’s Degree and can’t afford to go away?

Hopefully in the years to come, this growing industry sees what we have created and comes up with ideas of how to keep it in Trinidad and Tobago”
