Do video games have an affect on one's personality?

Over the course of the last few years there has been a lot of debate and controversy on whether or not that video games are the reason for the violence within the country. So how have video games affected the violent personalities? Video games are becoming more and more popular with the coming generations, but, as they become more popular, children are having less behavior problems, are less violent, and score better on standardized tests. So there are a lot of misconceptions about the affect that video games have on the children. However, not all kids show these impressive increases. There are small amounts of kids that have increased aggression and violence, but it depends on their personality type. Using the Five-Factor Model of neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness, Patrick Markey, PhD, is experimenting with which personalities increases aggression and violence. Markey found that the kids

He then used 118 teenagers with these three traits and exposed them to either a violent or non-violent video game, and then their hostility levels were tested.
