The effect video games can have of people is interesting, because everyone is effected differnetly. Some peopel may learn new words or even learn how to shoot straight. but what really is it that video games are effecting? In research I've done for a paper prior to this, I discovered that video games, mostly violent ones, have an effect on the amygdala, the part of the brain that controls emotions such as fear and anger. Video games haven't been proven to directly create violence in a person, they just "spark" what was already there, and this "spark" only occurs in people who cannot tell fiction from reality or people who have some form of mental disturbance. Video games, especially strategy games, can improve memory skills. Some video games activate the hippocampus more, allowing for more memory storage and easier encoding.
