Wilderness Medicine Training Center Kling Mountain Guides was started with the mission; “provide the highest quality services at reasonable costs using local guides, with a heavy focus on nationally recognized training & certification programs.” KMG’s owner and lead guide Josh Kling has been involved with collegiate outdoor programing for over a decade; from student, intern, faculty and contractor. This education heavy philosophy is seen throughout KMG’s offerings. From 1st year educators to career veterans, KMG strives to set participants up with the highest level of programing. Staff includes AMGA Certified Guides & Instructors as well as Collegiate Faculty. In a given year KMG runs; 12 + AMGA SPI Programs, 12+ AIARE Level 1 and 2 avalanche courses, and multitude of Wilderness Medical Associates programs for a total of over 30 training & certifications. KMG is one of only a handful of programs nationwide able to offer programs of this caliber entirely with our own staff. Acadia Mountain Guides Climbing School offers customized instruction in climbing, wilderness medicine, mountaineering and guiding. Whether it be a one day program or a multi-week expedition to a distant peak, AMGCS offers rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering and expeditions for university groups around the globe. Consider a winter trip to Katahdin, a ski trip to the Alps or Chic Chocs, or a mountaineering expedition to Ecuador or Aconcagua. AMGCS also offers AIARE avalanche courses, WMA wilderness medical courses, PCIA Climbing Wall (CWI) and Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) courses and mountain leadership courses. AMGCS is a company of certified guides and instructors and accredited by the PCIA and the AMGA. The school is owned by IFMGA guide Jon Tierney. Jon founded the University of Maine outdoor program and directed that program for 16 years. Jon is a strong advocate of university outdoor programs. Contact us to see what we can do for you. The Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA) provides the field’s most comprehensive training program for climbing wall and single pitch instructors. PCIA instructors are extremely passionate, technically proficient, experienced climbers who are some of the best teachers in the industry. Over 400 outdoor educators and certified guides helped tailor the PCIA curriculum to best address the needs of climbing instructors. PCIA courses are tiered for climbers and instructors of ranging abilities and can be easily adapted into college-level, academic programs. The PCIA is proud to partner with colleges and universities to offer Climbing Wall Instructor, Base-Managed Instructor, Top-Managed Instructor, and Single Pitch Climbing Instructor courses. Highly skilled instructors are invited to co
