Annual Conference
INNOVATE. COLLABORATE. RECREATE.
AORE 2016 was a collaborative effort by the entire University of Minnesota, Department of Recreation and Wellness. The conference was held inside the newly expanded Recreation and Wellness Center on the Twin Cities campus providing a unique atmosphere for attendees to interact with the campus population during the conference. With easy access to light rail transit and in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, attendees had many options for food, culture and socializing.
The event kicked off with an amazing keynote address from Joe Stone, with a message of empowerment and passion through his life as an incomplete quadriplegic. (photo below)
AORE 2016 had over 630 attendees and more than 65 educational sessions between November 9-11th. Featured events included the annual Super Social and Auction at TCF Bank Stadium and the Annual Awards Banquet was held in the beautiful MacNamara Alumni Center.
