Supporting the strategic plan, the Access committee completed the following action items in 2015:

1. Submitted newsletter articles.

2. Drafted the Government Shutdown Statement & Public Land Seizure Form.

3. Created a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Park Service.

4. Designed multiple Member Portal Deliverables to increase resources regarding access and

permitting.

5. Provided resources, and advised the Executive Director on issue related to access, such as

member successes and challenges, and reviewing proposed legislation.

6. Engaged and avocated with external stakeholders at OAWG, Outdoor Retailer, and SHIFT youth

delegation participation.

Supporting the strategic plan, the Awards Committee completed the following action items in 2015:

1. Established the new Patsy Kott Service Award.

2. Creation of a comprehensive SOP.

3.. Established a successful marketing program,

resulting in approximately triple the

applications as last year.

Supporting the strategic plan, the Research & Publication Committee completed the following action items in 2015:

1. Increased the research grant to $10,000.

2. Invited Ed Gomez as our 2015 keynote

speaker.

3. Created a list of priority research topics and

surveyed the membership about research

needs.

4. Officially created a process for JOREL advisory

members.

Supporting the strategic plan, the Diversity & Inclusion Task Force completed the following action items in 2015:

1. Partnered with the NEW Center to deliver a diversity and inclusion training at the BOD mid-year.

2. Developed and implemented a diversity and inclusion pre conference for the membership.

3. Created a D&I Statement for the AORE.

4. Assessed the historical gender demographic for BOD members, presenters and committee

chairs.

5. Applied to the Keen 2015 grant for “Bridging the Adventure Gap” .
