• AORE is a Steering member of the Outdoor Access Working Group, with a mission to develop outdoor industry recommendations for improving sustainable access to public lands and waters.

• AORE had a presence in Washington, D.C. at the Great Outdoors America Week to raise awareness around AORE’s role as an advocate for outdoor education.

• Jeannette Stawski addressed students and staff at Penn State, speaking on “Trends, Issues, and Opportunities in Outdoor Recreation Education” for The Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management program as part of the seminar series.

• Jeannette Stawski delivered NIRSA Region II Keynote Address sharing the value of adventure education in higher education.

• AORE Mid-Year was held in Ann Arbor, MI and working with a consultant, the Board of Directors completed a self-assessment and received training on governance.

• 25 AORE leaders came together prior to the Portland conference for training on AORE leadership, resources, and direction at the AORE Leadership Institute.

• AORE Board received fundraising and development coaching from consultants and engaged with a development drive. The AORE Board of Directors achieved 100% giving.

• In response to numerous surveys and feedback, AORE launched a new membership category, Student Professional, for individuals who will be the future directors and leaders of outdoor education programs.

• Organizational membership was redesigned to include 3 individual memberships; one Professional, one Student Professional and one Associate membership.
