to everything and see what the vibe is. It has to pass the "car test".

Anzzia: true. So, how many tracks are on this album?

Cha Cha: Right now I have ten, which is a lot. But, ten seems like a good number to me. So, the point of this album too is it's not so much, it's a lot of things. It's performing yes but, I want people to see these songs that I wrote and I want to write for other artists. I really want to put myself out there as a songwriter. So, I have songs in different styles. Their all different styles. Some seem more like poetry, I have an R & B song, just different kind of styles. I want to put myself out there as a songwriter.

Anzzia: Okay, what's your favorite style to write? As of now?

Cha Cha: To be honest, I love rapping and I really like aggressive Rap. I really like, I like Foxy Brown, I like Lil Kim, I like Missy Elliot. I like really strong but, still feminine female rapping. I just like to feel empowered by the song. I like to feel like I'm a badass in the song.

Anzzia: That's how Bougie made me feel! Like a badass! /laughs

Cha Cha: /laughs Yeah, I like that! When people meet me they have this perception of me being so prissy and someone that grew up privileged or something. But, for real, I grew up in Roxbury, not the best neighborhood. So, I like kind of aggressive Rap and Hip Hop. I just like talking about your story too. Like, Tupac is one of my favorites, I like Biggie, I like Busta Rhymes, I like Shine. Yeah, so I like some of that hardcore sound too.

Anzzia: Good, then what can listeners expect from your music? They go and they download the album are they catching up a mash-up of a bunch of different genres and styles? Or, are you sticking more to one type?

Cha Cha: I think they can expect a trip back to the '90s. When people really wrote lyrics and were trying to be clever. Where people wrote about their experiences and feelings and emotions. I think they can expect that '90s kind of vibe. Like, Aaliyah. Like, Busta, like Missy, like that kind of music.

Anzzia: Where do you record? You said you worked with some producers elsewhere, it didn't work out so well. Are you coordinating on your own? Do you go to a studio?

Cha Cha: No, I go to a studio. There are two studios I go to. Mainly one in Silver Springs called GemstarPro. Then I go to one in Virginia called The Sweet Spot. I record there too. Those two studios are the mains ones that I record at. But, all of my drafting and stuff, I just do that at home with my laptop and my phone. I do have a mic at home and studio headphones. But, I needed a new laptop so I wasn't using the mic as much as I want to. I'm just using what I have. I mean, I do need more equipment. But, that stuff you've got to invest in. Since I've been performing more, I need to get my own wireless mic, there are different things I need to get. The mic I have is not good for performances. It's good for recording at home.

Anzzia: Did you write everything solo or did you have any collabs on the album or is it just you?

Cha Cha: I have features of other artists. I have features but, the writing, I write all of the songs myself.

Anzzia: Who can we be hearing on your album?

Cha Cha: My brother is on my track. On one of my tracks.

Anzzia: Does he sing or does he rap?

Cha Cha: My brother raps. He raps. Deborah's on the Daddy track. She's singing the hook. She might be on something else. There's this young girl named Hevn Ayn, she's on there. Well, she recorded a verse for me but, she's like 13 and after I put her on the track and I listened to it, I was like, “This is not appropriate.” /laughs This is not age appropriate! I really like her voice but, I have to put her on a different track. Because the one I had her on I was like, “Uh, I feel some type of way about this because of her age.” So, I'm making the executive decision to put her on something else that's more age appropriate.
