ORGANIZED
BY THE AACCP
Course for Farriers
PILAR 2018
Under the Direction of Dr. Federico Oyuela, the
AACCP organized the First course on Paring and
Shoeing, with the sponsorship of the Equines
Department of the Ministry of Agro-Industry, from
March 5 to 9 in Rio Grande, Pilar.
There were 12 attendees, which was more than the
vacancies planned, who received both theoretical
and practical training during that week.
This is what those who attended had to say:
Lucas Alegroni: “I’m from Dolores, Buenos
Aires. Being a farrier is a very nice trade; I’m very
interested. It is great to learn all that can be seen
on the inside, and from another point of view.
Federico has explained very clearly, he answers all
our questions; is very open, and answers from the
simplest thing to the most complicated. I’m sorry
it’s coming to an end.”
Jesús Fernández: “I’m from Unión, San Luis. I
thought it very good; I learned a lot of things in a
few days and am grateful for the opportunity I was
given at my place of work, El Indio Muerto. There
are mechanisms and tools that are very good and
easy to learn to use. Very good comrades and a
very good teacher.”
Franco Castañares: “I’m from Venado Tuerto. It’s
a very interesting course; we learn every day; we
are getting ahead.”
Cristian Jaime: “I’m from San Antonio de Areco
and I came to take the course which I found quite
interesting. I know how Federico works and I thought
his explanations were very simple and very easy, not
only the theory, but also the practice; learning about
diseases in hooves; it is one of the most complete
courses I’ve come accross. I am very keen to continue
and better my skills at this.”
Dr. Federico Oyuela: “We are at the Argentine
School for Farriers. A very nice group got together,
mostly from the interior; some grooms, others
who know the trade; some coming to perfect
their knowledge, others to learn from scratch. We
alternated theory and practice; they pare; shoe
and get rid of their doubts.”
