La Dolfina made history

The multi-champion team of these last years managed to win its third Consecutive Triple Crown by beating Ellerstina at the Palermo final by 13-12 . Oli Chicha was awarded Best Polo Argentino Pony of the final . Additionally , it was the last match of two great horses in the history of Polo : Dolfina Cuartetera and Dolfina Buenaventura . It was , perhaps , the most momentous match in its history , and Adolfo Cambiaso made more history than he had done so far . First Triple Triple in the history of Argentine Polo , and it went , of course , to La Dolfina . A final with many things at stake . La Dolfina seeking to win the Triple Triple ; Ellerstina wanting to stop that drought of 3 years with no titles . And the beginning was what was expected of both teams , with both putting forward their own game and a first chukka that ended on an even 2 . But La Dolfina gained strength in the throw-ins and was slightly superior during the second chukka which was very high flying and positioned the foursome from Cañuelas 5-2 . From then on La Dolfina was always in the lead , and was able to play to advantage in the following chukkas . During the second half of the match , it was the backs on both teams that showed the clearest play , but each time he appeared , above all when he got
on to Cuartetera , Adolfo Cambiaso made the difference . A couple of goals made by him and the score was 11-7 after 6 chukkas . The seventh chukka saw Juanma Nero make the best goal of the championship , but soon after Facundo Pieres , on board Chequera , had a spectacular streak , and between him and Gonzalito they made sure to shorten the difference to 12-10 . That ’ s how things stood at the start of the last period , with only two goals difference ( 12-10 ) in favor of Cambiaso and Co . There was a lot of rushing up and down in the last eight minutes in which the Pieres team sought to get even and La Dolfina displaying its defensive power looked for spaces through which to make sure their success . Facundo Pieres was at his best on Open Chequera during those last moments of the match , but Ellerstina ’ s effort was not enough and La Dolfina won by 13 to 12 . The Argentine Association of Polo Pony Breeders ’ award to the Best Registered Playing Pony of the Polo Argentino Breed and The Argentine Rural Association Award went to Oli Chicha , played and owned by Juan M . Nero , of El Caburé S . A . bloodline . The awards were handed out by the Presidents of both institutions , Mr . Delfín Uranga and Dr . Luis Miguel Etchevehere respectively .
