Trials of a Tiffin master cont.

These biscuits of inferior quality do not have the delicacy of premium Scotch Fingers, and while perfectly suitable for a private tea dunking, are too stubborn for competition. To this end we will soon be undertaking a dunk test of several brands of Scotch Fingers to determine the best for duels.

We advise amateur duelists to await our findings. We expect the paper may win us the recognition of an Ig Nobel prize

While at Ironfest in Lithgow, in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, we found that the biscuits were not losing their structural integrity quickly enough to maintain interest unless dunked for long periods. Being some 900 metres higher than Sydney, where the majority of our duels were held, we deduced altitude was at play. Perhaps the Scotch Finger is originally a Highland biscuit and does better in rarefied air? Perhaps there is a

scientific phenomena not yet studied to explain the effect a thin air has on baked goods. Either way, a flimsier biscuit was required

Recently at the Steampowered waterworks in Goulburn, NSW, a tea duel was held to close the day. After a pleasant event, with Victorian dances and Parasol Duelling, we once again organised a knockout over Assam or Earl Grey.
