Spring Cleansing
From The Inside Out
By Dr. Jody Snider, ND
You can actually nourish your body and cleanse
your liver at the same time.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Spring is
the season of the LIVER. The liver is the primary organ
of detoxification, making Spring the perfect time for a
cleanse.
A cleanse or detox can be intimidating for some. These
‘treatments’ are often associated with starvation and/or
endless trips to the washroom The truth is you don’t have
to be uncomfortable or feel deprived. You can actually
nourish your body and cleanse your liver at the same time.
First and foremost, you want to be very selective about
the types of food you put into your body, minimizing
substances and foods which are taxing on the liver. Caffeine, alcohol and refined sugar, for example, should be
avoided. Vegetables such as kale, beets and brussel sprouts
can help to support the detoxifying function of the liver.
Morning lemon water is another simple and effective way
of kick-starting liver and gallbladder function, leading
to improved detoxification. Add the juice of one whole
fresh lemon to a large glass of room temperature water
and drink immediately upon waking.
Exercise, hydrotherapy, massage, and a few individually
selected supplements are important additions to any detox, increasing its effectiveness. You will feel lighter and
brighter, with clearer skin, and improved digestion and
regularity.
Emotional ‘cleansing’ can also have a huge impact on the
physical body. Let go! Irritability and anger are both associated with a taxed liver, and can be signs that you could
use emotional de-cluttering.
Naturopathic doctors can tailor a detoxification protocol
to meet your individual needs and health concerns. Book

I nurture my connection with universal source

For as long as I can remember I have always had a strong
connection to my inner knowingness. I have learned to
allow this knowledge to lead me in all aspects of my life.
However, there were challenges that came with feeling
connected to source energy. I weaved in and out of feeling
like I couldn’t be my authentic self for much of my younger years. Highschool also proved challenging, followed

by my awakening. When I began to lar intuitions
and knowledge with others, I quickly developed a new
found confidence. There were so many people who could
benefit from learning how to heal themselves, becoming
more connected to their higher being. This inspired me
greatly and I embraced my pursuit toward a holistic career.

I chose to receive my Reiki Certifications in 2007, and
in 2012 I became a certified Reflexologist opening my
own practice, Divine Blends Healing. I also offer intuitive readings and have the pleasure of working at Heart
Retreat.
Both Reiki an d Reflexology have been practiced for centuries and ItaerteR TRAEH
personally love using them in combination. It
offers me the ability to treat the mind, body and soul on a
spiritual, emotional and physical level in a single session.
I nurture my connection with universal source energy,
which supports me in facilitating healing for others.
I am so grateful to have a career in something I love, that
resonates with my soul and allows others to feel peace and
wellness. I encourage my clients to come to their sessions
open and ready to experience a truly Divine connection
to their bodies and most importantly, their souls.
Always be true to who you know you are.
