•
Some Facts About Warming Foods:
They don’t always have to be ‘hot’- it is more about
the thermal properties of the food that we eat and its
capacity to raise our internal fire (yang energy).
•
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) often refers
to foods as being Yin (cooling) or Yang (warming).
•
Incorporating more warming foods into your diet
during the winter months will help keep you in balance.
•
Typically, foods that are available and in harvest during the winter months are those that are warming,
like ginger, garlic, parsnips, cloves, cinnamon and
watercress.
•
Alternatively, foods that are cooling such as cucumber, lettuce, tomato and cantalope are readily available during the summer months.
