Causes of Anorexia.

There are many, many reasons as to why teenage girls between the ages of 14-17 develop the eating disorder, anorexia. Most reasons are because they think that they are fat and inorder to be desired, to fit in is all because of society and the media portrayal of how all girls have to be, tall, tan, long wavy hair and skinny or even if they idol a particular celebrity. Other reasons are due to family or peer issues and stress in their everyday life. Some teenage girls are perfectionists and they have low self esteem so they try to look like what the media is potraying. If teenage girls have boyfriends, they may think they arnt good enough for him so they try to harm themselves by 'cutting' or involving themselves in extreme dieting.

Symptoms of Anorexia.

When you or somebody you know has a disease called anorexia they probably dont know what the difficult journey has instore for them, some of the symptoms you or your friend may experience include ;

-Sudden loss of weight

-Hair loss,

-Cold hands or feet

-Constipation

-Shortness of breath

-Loss of monthly menstrual

period

-Anxiety

-Brittle skin

Some ways the victim may try to cover up their weight loss, is by them not wearing tight clothing .
