Champlin

Champlin is located in northern Hennepin County on the west bank of the Mississippi River, about 17 miles northwest of Minneapolis. The Mississippi River borders the City to the east and north, with Brooklyn Park to the south and Dayton, Maple Grove, and the Elm Creek Park Reserve to the west. The City offers 300 acres of parks and 28 miles of trails designed to meet the recreational needs of various age groups. The park system includes numerous playgrounds, sports fields, skating rinks, trails, and countless acres of natural beauty. Champlin

also provides multiple facilities for residents, including the Ice Forum and the Mississippi Crossings Event Center, a rentable venue on the majestic Mississippi River.
As a riverfront community, Champlin’ s history demonstrates how a city can thrive by leveraging the opportunities a resource like the Mississippi River provides. The City redeveloped the riverfront into Mississippi Crossings, a premiere destination that attracts visitors from across the region for dining, entertainment, and outdoor recreation. The City hosts the MC Summer Series, an outdoor entertainment event from June through August that is free to attend. It also hosts a holiday treelighting celebration and other fun events throughout the year at the Crossings. Residents now have a central gathering place on the river in the heart of the City.
