A series of activities were lined up for staff including the Fix-A-Meal Challenge, Guess a Colleague, blood donation drive, flash mob performance, talks with topics ranging from personal branding advice to medical insurance, demos, as well as a mini bazaar. Around 35 exhibitors participated in the event. Monash Expatriate Group With staff hailing from more than 35 countries, the University supports a diverse expatriate community. Our expatriate staff were invited for a monthly lunch to stay connected, while the Monash Expat Spouse Hub gathered their spouses regularly to socialise and welcome new members to the group. A visit to Kuala Selangor was also organised with 58 expatriate staff and their families participating in the day trip. Ethics and professional conduct myDevelopment As part of the University’s continuous efforts to support a culture of respect, we rolled out a series of talks on ethics and professional conduct at the workplace. Over 400 staff members participated and deliberated on ethics, discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying and behaviour expectations in the working environment. This year, we introduced an online Learning Management System called myDevelopment that contributes and supports staff development. The system offers a wide range of development opportunities including online courses, learning materials and face-to-face training programs. Festive celebrations In a country defined by its diverse ethnicities and religions, it is a beloved Malaysian tradition to come together and celebrate the various cultural festivals throughout the year. Good food, dance, fun and games, and camaraderie marked the Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali and Christmas festivities for our staff. 55
