Development and evaluation of
augmented reality / virtual reality
technologies in the teaching of
cardiovascular disease
The rise of digital technology is transforming how universities
effectively engage students. While the use of augmented
reality (AR) in higher education is still in its infancy, it is an
area that is growing rapidly. Researchers have identified an
opportunity to introduce AR technology into Pharmacy teaching
at Monash University and Biomedical Sciences teaching at
Warwick. The universities will work together to develop AR
content including interactive learning materials on the
cardiovascular system, normal physiological functions, the
physical consequences of diseases, and the mechanism of
drugs used to treat them.

Design and 3D rendering of recycling bin and assembly
Researchers are working with TerraPhoenix – iCYCLE, a solution provider of waste separation and recycling, to modify and improve the
design and assembly of their recycling bin. Modifications have been made to the existing design so that the bin may use an alternative
material that is both environmentally friendly and lightweight, instead of the traditional steel or aluminium.
