School of Arts and
Social Sciences
celebrates 10 years
The School of Arts and Social
Sciences (SASS) celebrated a
successful decade this year,
welcoming students, alumni and
founding members for an evening of
festivities. Since its establishment as
an independent school in 2008, SASS
has rapidly grown into one of the most
dynamic and forward-thinking schools
in Southeast Asia. The success of our
SASS graduates is testament to the
school’s robust education that
constantly challenges students to
extend themselves creatively and
intellectually, thus elevating the value
of an arts and social sciences degree
in a fast-paced world.
Recognising academic excellence
A total of 1691 undergraduate and postgraduate students were awarded scholarships for their exceptional academic
achievements in three award ceremonies held in the year. The award recipients were from all seven schools across nine
scholarship categories, bringing the total scholarship value awarded in 2018 to RM24.55 million.
