FUNDAMENTALS

The USASF offers growth opportunities for USASF program members through FUNdamentals , a free resource for developing short-term , low-cost introductions to All Star . Designed in a weekly class format , FUNdamentals offers a fun , low-pressure , non-competitive , technique-centered path for new cheer and dance athletes .

NOVICE SELECT

Programs offering Novice division teams introduce new athletes to the performance-based All Star cheer world in a low-stress environment . In 2021 , the USASF created Novice SELECT , a set of tools that simplifies the development of a program ’ s Novice routine . Coaches select the music , routine framework and skill sets that are appropriate for their Novice Level 1 , 2 or 3 teams . These components are offered at no cost to help newer coaches and programs put together routines that may be evaluated among other Novice division teams at USASF Sanctioned Competitions .

LEGALITY VIDEO REVIEW

Legality Officials serve an integral role at USASF Sanctioned Competitions by ensuring fair competition for all participants . Legality Officials bring legitimacy and integrity to the sport by enforcing the rules of All Star .
The Legality Video Review process was developed to help coaches and their teams prepare for competition . Videos submitted through the USASF Coach app are reviewed by certified Legality Officials to determine whether skills or stunts are legal or illegal according to USASF rules .
