presence at the competition this year was to be his last as
a member of the Judiciary workforce. He retired in June
after serving the institution for more than 30 years.
The event which encourages participation by Judiciary
staff members in the calypso art form as a part of the
national festival as usual brought out hundreds of
employee’s from all Judiciary locations, including
Tobago. A more mature offering of artistes including
veterans Super Blue, Baron and Iwer George widened
the net of employees attending, with the younger set still
being able to enjoy the more modern repertoire of Bunji
Garlin and Ravi B who complemented the star studded
cast.
In Tribute to Administrative
Professionals
The Judiciary observed Administrative Professionals Day
2013 by hosting a luncheon function at the Capital Plaza
Hotel in Port of Spain for more than 200 related staff
and their bosses.
The Judiciary widened the tribute this year to include
Executive Administrative Support Officers, Executive
Secretaries, Personal Administrative Assistants, Clerical
Typists and On-the-Job Trainees holding Administrative
Assistants roles. Although couched against the 2013
global theme of Administrative Professional Day -Creating and Maintaining Citizen Centred Service - the
Judiciary encouraged its own related staff with internal
and external customers to think and deliver an exceptional customer experience to all citizens “Here, Now
and With Ease,” and in a ‘Swift, Sensitive and Seamless
Manner,” whether dealing with them on the phone or in
person.
To re-inforce what is required of them, the institution
invited Customer Care Consultant, Dawn Richards, a
regular trainer of Judiciary staff in Customer Care to
deliver a motivational address to the honourees. They
were also addressed by the Chief Justice, Mr Justice Ivor
Archie, and Court Executive Administrator, Ms Michelle
Austin, and were treated to an entertaining skit put on by
the UWI-based theatre group, Arts in Action, which
engaged them on some of the pitfalls in providing
effective service to the Court’s varied stakeholders.
The ceremony also paid special tribute to Ms Jennifer
Casser, Secretary to the late Justice of Appeal, Mr Justice
Wendell Kangaloo.
