In FY2025, we successfully completed four significant horticultural improvement projects. The largest one was the landscaping around the new ADA-accessible pathway leading to the columbarium, and the associated path paving along the west side of Story Chapel and the Administration Building entrance. Another was the planting work at the four new pedestrian entrances constructed along Mount Auburn Street. The third was a project to stabilize the path and install new plantings on the steep upper slopes of Violet Path in Consecration Dell. The fourth was a planting intended to upgrade the naturalistic plantings around the water feature at Alice Fountain.
We have confirmed that Beech Leaf Disease was found on approximately 50 % of our beech trees in 2024.
The plant collections currently contain 20,392 plants or massed plantings, representing 2,651 different species or cultivars.
Our in-house plant production program included nearly 6,000 plants in FY2025.
Our Citizen Science Naturalist Program implemented 2 new studies: the Insect Malaise Trap Project and the Adult Dragonfly & Damselfly Survey.
