FROMTHEPAGE : COLLECTIONS TRANSCRIPTION Spurred by the pandemic and funded by a CARES Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities , Mount Auburn launched an exciting new way for volunteers to work with our archival material from home . This crowdsourced initiative using online platform FromThePage has allowed over 100 volunteers from all over the world to help our Historical Collections staff transcribe digital copies of our most important historic documents .

MONUMENT PRESERVATION Mount Auburn ’ s collection of remarkable monuments requires constant care from our dedicated preservation teams . In particular , 30 monuments with unique historic or artistic characteristics comprise our Significant Monument Collection and receive special attention to ensure their survival . In 2020 , the massive 1883 Whitney Monument was the recipient of a new form of extensive conservation treatment to successfully save its magnificent angel , cherubs , and pedestal .
