As part of the Subaru Love Promise Diversity initiative, the dealership hosted a donation drive to provide new running shoes and financial support for young girls in need. Employees added a personal touch by writing heartfelt messages of encouragement to accompany each pair, reinforcing the belief that every girl deserves the chance to cross the finish line— both on the track and in life.
GIRLS ON THE RUN 5K
On June 1st, Girls on the Run Utah held its highly anticipated Spring 5K event, bringing together participants from across the region. This celebratory run marked the culmination of the season’ s programs, where girls in 3rd to 8th grade showcased their dedication, perseverance, and teamwork. The event, filled with cheers and vibrant energy, highlighted the positive impact of the organization’ s mission to empower young girls through physical activity and life skills education. Empowering young girls through these programs is crucial for developing confident, strong women who will lead and inspire in the future. With more than half of Girls on the Run participants requiring financial assistance, initiatives like this are essential in ensur-ing every girl has the gear and support she needs to succeed. This spring, over 1,400 girls in grades 3-8 will take part in the program, gaining confidence, leadership skills, and a love for physical activity. Schools like Mary W. Jackson Elementary and Mountain View Elementary— both serving a high number of low-income students— will directly benefit from these contributions, helping to remove barriers and create opportu-nities for all participants.
Beyond the shoes, this initiative represents something even greater— community support, empowerment, and the belief that every girl has the strength to achieve her dreams.
