Teach For Armenia to the
Armenia Education Initiative
In 2015, a small team launched Teach For Armenia with a first-year budget of $ 275,000 and one ambitious promise: that every child in Armenia would have access to an excellent education. What began as a teacher-placement fellowship, modeled on the global Teach For All framework, steadily grew into something far more expansive.
By 2025, the organization had placed more than 550 Teacher-Leaders and Alumni-Ambassadors across 410 schools in all ten regions of Armenia, reaching over 60,000 students annually and touching 150,000 over its lifetime. The rebrand to the Armenia Education Initiative is the culmination of a decade of learning: the recognition that lasting change requires not just great teachers, but great schools, great policy, great innovation, and great leadership pipelines, all working together.
AEI is not a temporary fix. It is a permanent institution engineered to catalyze an education revolution. After ten years of grassroots impact, AEI has evolved into an ambitious ecosystem of interconnected initiatives driving nationwide, systemic change. We do not ask for gradual progress; we demand nothing less than the transformation of Armenia’ s education system by 2050.
