Teacher Testimonials: Technology and Alternative Thinking in Education
Artak Safaryan
Tech for Armenia, Informatics Teacher, Sevkar School; IT Specialist, ItOk
One of my main goals in teaching is to cultivate alternative thinking and develop students’ ability to independently explore, search, and discover solutions. Coming from a different professional field myself, I bring a fresh perspective to education and encourage learners to think beyond conventional approaches. Technology education provides theoretical knowledge about the tools of the future— or at least their early prototypes. Extracurricular activities, when they are engaging rather than tiring or routine, help students move beyond theory by strengthening practical application, creativity, and hands-on experience with those tools.
Hovsep Khachatryan
Tech for Armenia, Math Teacher, Stepanavan N2 School; IT Specialist, Vararakn Solutions
I became not only a teacher, but also an ambassador of technology within the community— inspiring both students and their parents. Just as importantly, I learned patience, adaptability, and experienced the real human impact of my work. It is important for people from the tech sector itself to engage in educational innovation, because we are the primary users and creators of technology. With an engineering mindset, we are often able to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and build more effective solutions. That is why we have started thinking more intentionally about how to contribute to social and educational innovation.
