CPSO plays a key role in supporting doctors in their ongoing learning , helping them take proactive steps to integrate new knowledge into their practice . Through our Quality Improvement ( QI ) and Quality Assurance ( QA ) Programs , we connect with doctors every five years to ensure they are achieving success in their practice .
Depending on their circumstances , doctors may choose to complete their Quality requirements individually , as part of a small group , by leveraging their active participation in an approved QI initiative with their hospital , or by completing a peer assessment in QA . Most recently , we have introduced the QI Enhanced Program , which gives doctors aged 70 to 79 the option of completing their CPSO Quality requirements through our QI Program .
CPSO also oversees facilities defined in regulation as Out-of-Hospital Premises ( OHPs ).
