Kentron Administrative District, Mane Tiles Yerevan Municipality
To revitalize Yerevan’ s urban environment by integrating high-value cultural heritage into public spaces. This initiative sought to transform functional infrastructure into a landmark of artistic expression, reflecting the Foundation’ s commitment to territorial development and the promotion of Armenian cultural identity. The Saryan Steps initiative involved the comprehensive renovation of public steps in the heart of Yerevan, the sidewalk adjacent to the steps, previously used as a parking spot, was fully returned to pedestrians. New lighting systems were installed; all basalt tiles on the four platforms of the steps and the sidewalk were replaced; additional decorative lighting was added; the railings were renovated; and the side tiles underwent laser polishing. The project also included landscaping of the surrounding area and the full renovation of the small park at the top of the steps.
The centerpiece of the project is a mosaic representation of Saryan’ s renowned painting,“ Armenia,” which serves as a vibrant tribute to the nation’ s landscape and heritage.
